True Gospel, False Gospel, Different?
I am truly both saddened and sickened by people who believe it necessary to add, take away or completely change the meanings and definitions to the words in scripture. These words; as they appear bring us the messages that God, Christ and the writer’s thought were necessary for the betterment of all mankind and they expressed these words as such in the hopes that their messages would not be altered by self-seeking people who can not accept them as they are but need to put a feel-good spin on them so they themselves don’t feel threatened by the messages that apply to all, including those who change these words and the word “Gospel” is no different.
What is “The Gospel”? What does this word mean? The word Gospel comes to us in the KJV of the Bible from the Greek word euaggelion {yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on} and refers to the glad tidings, the good news, the message of Jesus Christ in that He came to earth to die on the cross and to provide mankind a way to receive salvation from sins and one day, be able to return to God after death and receive eternal life in the glorious kingdom of heaven. All the acts, the deeds, the works and the righteousness of Christ has also come to be known by this name but sadly, so many others have twisted this word, as they have much of the Bible to suit their own purposes or needs.
Anyone within the Christian world who believes in; preaches, teaches and leads others to Christ through this offer of redemption through the blood spilled on Calvary by Jesus Christ Himself as a means of atonement for the sins of mankind; bringing them into the regeneration of the spirit through the Holy Spirit Baptism teaches the one, the only, the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and provided that this is the way we believe and teach others of the blessed hope of salvation, they; we, are not and can not be preaching a False Gospel.
All too often; people get caught up in the doctrinal differences and the Dogma wars that have been splintering and dividing the Church since Christ came and gave His life in exchange for the hope of saving at least, some of Gods’ creation so that they could return to Him. Every denomination within the world of Christendom must believe in and teach this Gospel to be considered Christian and provided that they stay within the guidelines Christ set forth as the structure of this Gospel as in He is the way, the truth and the life and that no man can come unto God except through this Gospel of Christ, they are believing in and teaching the true Gospel, The Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Within the world of the Church; there exists many different beliefs, all of which come from the same book and the same faith of and in Christianity. Pre-trib, mid-trib & post-trib rapture. Millennialism; every form of it. Predestination or Freewill, if Jesus is God, Baptism, Communion, when or if there’s a rapture, etc….etc… The list goes on and on and deep within every one of these differences, lies people who attack others who do not believe as they do and accuse them of being false prophets, teaching false doctrine and/or a false Gospel. This is where I draw the line and have to remind people that even though people may have differing beliefs; unless they’re teaching you another way to achieve salvation, other than through Christ, it is not false doctrine; they are not false prophets, false Christ’s and they are not teaching a false Gospel.
Fulfilled Eschatology teaches the same Christ, the same way to Christ, the same attributes of Christ and that there is no other way to salvation. This isn’t False Gospel.
